Marketing an event
There's plenty of ways to advertise your event so that your members (and potential members!) hear about it.
Email your members
One of the simplest ways you can let your members know about your events is by popping them an email, it's super simple to do and we keep track of your members for you. Check out more on emailing your members here.
Add your event to the website
Make sure you're adding your event to the website so we can shout about it and push it to your members and non-members alike! We're doing more than ever to try and get your events noticed, and it's super simple to add an event, so make sure you're putting them up. We have a handy guide to help you add events.
Use social media
Social media can be a great way to get people interested in your event and let them know what's going on. It's easier than ever to make flashy graphics with free online tools such as Canva. Ask Christy if you can be featured on the Union's social media! Write a catchy post, provide some images and make sure your website page is up to date. If you are making a facebook post for a specific event add Heriot-Watt University Student Union (@HWUnion) as a cohost so that your event can be seen by more people. Make sure to tag us on Instagram too @hwunion and @hwunionsbc.
Put up posters
