If you’re looking to grab a snack or chill out at lunchtime, look no further than us!
The Student Shop - Edinburgh
The Student Shop enjoyed a fancy new refurbishment in 2017. Located in the Hugh Nisbet Building, it stocks a range of goodies and essentials. If you’re living on campus, we’re your closest stop for necessities like bread, milk and fruit. We offer a wide range of sandwiches, salads, pastas and pasties for your lunch, with vegan, gluten-free and halal options available. There’s also loads of healthy and naughty snacks, as well as a Costa Express machine.
The Shop also stocks stationery, Heriot-Watt branded clothing, newspapers, magazines, essential toiletries, stamps (including international stamps) and a selection of beers, wine and spirits (please note we operate a Challenge 25 policy on campus).
The money made by the Shop helps fund the Union’s work, including the Advice Hub, so you can feel good when you shop with us.
Libertys - Edinburgh
The Union’s café, Libertys, can be found in the Student Union building behind Leonard Horner halls. Libertys is your ideal spot for breakfasts and lunches, or brunches if you prefer. We offer a range of comforting meals such as cooked breakfasts, salads, sandwiches, baked potatoes, and soups. We also serve delicious street-food inspired 4ork rice or pasta bowls with plenty of vegetarian and vegan options! We also serve Change Please coffee (sit-in or take-away), cakes and daily specials. Come and see us after a lochside walk.
Geordies - Edinburgh
Our on-campus bar can be found in the Student Union Building. Geordies' lunchtime and evening menu is full of student favourites, but if we had to pick just a few, we’d mention the Bad Boy Burger, our pie of the day, and macaroni cheese (vegetarian and vegan options also available). Like any good bar, we serve a huge range of beers, ciders, wines and spirits, as well as soft drinks.
With our giant projector screen and four plasma screen TVs, we love to broadcast live sport. If there’s a particular match you want to see, ask at the bar and we’ll stick it on for you. Geordies is the ideal place to unwind after class.
The Union Cafe / Campus Coffee - SBC
Despite the name, The Union Cafe is run by Baxter Storey and offers a range of hearty lunchtime meals, including soups, paninis and baked potatoes. There’s vegetarian options as well as coffee and smoothies to quench your thirst.
Campus Shop - SBC
As well as all the snacks you could ever eat, the Shop has a good selection of materials and art equipment for everyone studying textiles or fashion. They stock products recommended by tutors so you can rest assured you’re getting the best.
