Welcome to the Advice Hub

We are here to help and support you in any way we can and are totally independent from the University. We can offer guidance and support with University processes, or point you to the right department or person who can answer your query. Find out more about how we can help support you, and access our guides, by using the tiles below.

Some of the things we can help with are...

Academic Support
Financial Support
Housing and Accommodation
Health and Wellbeing
Study Skills
Digital Access
Your Campus
International Students

We are happy to listen and help you with both academic related issues and personal issues - no problem is too small! Contact us at advice.hub@hw.ac.uk

  • Advice Hub services are completely free for all Heriot-Watt students.
  • We are available for students at all levels of study.
  • We are here to help students based at Riccarton, Scottish Borders and Orkney campuses.
  • We offer face-to-face Microsoft teams meetings with students based all over the world. Contact us on advice.hub@hw.ac.uk, including what you want to talk to us about (so we can prepare), if you wish to request a meeting.
  • All information shared with us is confidential. We will not share your data with anyone else (including the University) without your permission, unless we believe you to be at risk of harm to yourself, or others.

I studied Acting at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York and I loved my time in the States. I also have a degree in Theatre Studies from Rose Bruford. In my free-time I am an actor and theatre maker when not advising students! I am currently learning hip hop and Korean and terrible at both (so far!). Love a good k-drama!

I studied English Language and Literature at Edinburgh University. I worked for many years for charities in the Scottish care sector, before joining the student union. My two sons graduated from Heriot-Watt, just before I arrived to work in the Advice Hub. In my free time, I enjoy making silver jewellery using traditional silversmithing methods.
