The President's main focus is improving the student experience and representing the views of Heriot Watt students to the University. They lead the Full-Time Officer team, and make sure students are at the heart of everything the University does as they sit on University Court, as well as a bunch of other incredibly important committees. The President also leads on Postgraduate Representation!

The VP Wellbeing is the first point of contact for student Equality and Diversity issues and liberation campaigns. They run the Student Wellbeing Group and work closely with the students that attend it to advocate for positive change in issues facing students identifying as LGBT+, Women, International, Black Asian and Minority Ethnic, and Disabled.

There are 5 Student Members of Parliament and there is no set remit for any of these positions to work on throughout the year. It is up to them to create, change or fix anything they want and they can run on any issue or cause they feel needs to be addressed. The Postgraduate Research Member of Parliament is responsible for collecting the views and needs of other Postgraduate Research students at Heriot-Watt. They will give a voice to these students in Parliament and across committees with the University (such as the University Committee for Research and Innovation and Research Degrees Committee), and work to find solutions to student issues.
There is a heavy focus on academic issues but they'll also look beyond these!
