What campaigns or student issues are most important to you? (Max 3)

  • Positive communicatin between students and faculty
  • Feedback in Education
  • Mental Health—let’s talk about it

What skills and experience would you bring to the role?

I have been working at the Student Union for over a year now, and as a Duty Manager have developed skills of organisation, management, on the spot problem-solving and diplomacy. Communication is so important in the workplace as it allows a build-up of good relationships between staff, making work much easier due to a stronger team because we always look out for each other. Same could be applied to many student/lecturer mishaps. Once there is an ongoing, developed relationship with the students and their mentors, many compromises can be reached.

Why do you want the role?

This role would allow me to use my voice and bring up multiple ideas that could make the school of EGIS even better than it already is. Ideas that are brought up are never only mine—I speak for and with my peers, and collaboratively we propose matters that we think could improve our life at the university.

There isn’t a single campaign or student issue that isn’t as important as the rest. If there is a problem, then we must always find the solution. However, personally, a student issue that is raised the most in my social area has to be the communication between a professor and the students. It is very important that the students and their lecturer can compromise in a way that they can reach a mutual understanding whenever any issue occurs through communication. Unfortunately, sometimes students feel unheard or are instantly shut down by their mentor. In this case learning becomes much more difficult no matter how much a course may be enjoyed.
