Melissa is a PhD student in the Edinburgh Business School at SoSS, having previously completed her Masters also at Heriot-Watt. Her research involves understanding how the application of circular economy principles (such as reducing, reusing, and remanufacturing) can benefit businesses and supply chains. As part of her research, she has connected with dozens of companies in Scotland, and collaborated with industry partners such as Decom North Sea, Zero Waste Scotland, and the Scottish Environmental Protection Agency.
She is passionate about sustainability, management, and teaching. As a student member of the HWUnion board, she is concerned with ensuring that the Union is helping the university to form a new generation that can take up to the challenges of the 21st century.
