Many months ago, we had the idea to open a small charity / pre-loved clothing store in a small unit that was vacant in the Student Union. Work began to make it a reality, but numerous delays held us back. We even ended up using the retail unit as the home for our Community Larder until we found it a more permanent home.
But today is an exciting day, and we're really pleased to be able to say that RELOVED has now opened!
We know times are tough at the moment - especially hitting your pocket as prices for everything are shooting through the roof. Hopefully, RELOVED will help ease the burden a little bit, by offering a range of preloved clothing items at very student friendly prices.
Why are we doing it?
While saving money is important, we have several other aims:
- Reduce the reliance on "fast-fashion" through providing quality pre-loved clothes
- Reduce the pressure on the student pocket by offering cheaper clothing
- Provide an exciting volunteering opportunity to HW students
- Generate income for the Student Union to support students
How can I get involved?
There are three ways you can get involved with RELOVED...
1. Be a customer
Possibly the simplest - just head down between 10am - 5pm, Monday to Friday and have a browse through the items and see if any take your fancy. You can also follow us on Insta @relovedhw where we'll post some of our favourite new items as we put them on sale.
2. Donate what you don't wear
If you're looking to empty your wardrobe and have a clear out, we'd love to give your old clothing a new home. We just ask that it is in reasonable condition (and preferably cleaned before you drop it off!).
3. Help us run the shop
