Each year, the newly elected Full Time Officers head to Lead and Change. This time it is split between two weeks, one in London and the other in Leeds. It is a development week run by the National Union of Students. Why does this matter for Heriot-Watt Students? Lets dive into why:
Lead and Change is a great week of building networks with other Student Unions and Association Officers. This then leads to forging relationships to join national campaigns and share best practice on issues facing students up and down the UK. Last year, we came together to help fight for better support for students in the light of the Cost of Living rising.
The theme for this year’s Lead and change is all about transformational leadership. Transformational leadership is all about making informed decisions by listening to the student body and influencing others to create positive change.
