This is our weekly laid back club night where we play chess in a relaxed environment. For people of all skill levels, don't worry if you're only just starting out playing chess, or if you've never played, everyone's welcome, just turn up!

As it's consolidation week, we'll be playing duck chess! This is totally optional, but it should be fun! If you don't know what duck chess is, all regular chess rules apply, with these differences:

There are no checks or checkmates—players must capture the king to win.

A rubber duck (provided) is placed on the board, after moving a piece, the duck must be moved to a different and empty square. The duck is like a solid wall - pieces cannot move through the square occupied by the duck.  Knights can jump over the duck.

If it's a stalemate, the stalemated player wins!

It's all for fun, so don't worry if you've never played before because most people won't have either!
