We are a society aimed at promoting and supporting women, non-binary & allies studying STEM subjects here at Heriot-Watt.
Watt Women in STEM aims to promote and support women, non-binary and allies studying STEM fields at Heriot-Watt University, while also acting as an interdisciplinary network. In order to achieve this, we provide site visits to Science and Engineering companies, talks from women, non-binary & allies in STEM, workshops and social outings. The society is affiliated with Equate Scotland (Interconnect project); Equate Scotland is the national expert in gender equality throughout the STEM sectors andenables women studying and working in these keys sectors to develop. This year we really want to listen to what our members want and give them useful keeps that would benefit them moving forward, whether that be onto their be into another year of studies or into industry/the workplace.
