Ready for take off! Heriot-Watt CanSat Team is joining AAS CanSat Competition this year again! After our success in Virginia last year, we are ready for even more challenge.
A CanSat is a simulation of a genuine satellite that is built into the volume and shape of a can.
Yes, this is basically what our team has to do for the CanSat project. Sounds challenging, right?
The students' task is to fit all of the essential subsystems found in a satellite, such as power, sensors, and a communication system, into this small space. This will then be sent into the lower atmosphere by a rocket and will execute certain functions before descending to the surface via parachute.
