For independent advice on taking a break from your studies, late coursework submissions or anything else related to your studies, the Advice Hub are available by email, telephone and drop-in sessions every Thursday in the Union Office in the Library. 

Counselling and Support

To arrange counselling, please contact Gillian McLaughlin who will meet with you to discuss your needs. She will then make a referral to the Student Counselling Service.

Health and Wellbeing

We strongly recommend students register with a GP and dentist. Below are some of the surgeries available in Galashiels. Students can register in person.

The emergency dentist travels around the borders, and you need to book on the day as it’s for emergency treatments. If you need them, call 0845 300 0930.

Remember, you can get free condoms in various toilets in the Highmill from the Student Union.
