Applying earlier is better, but SAAS have confirmed that as long as your application and supporting evidence are with them by June 30th, you will receive your funding in time for the beginning of your course! Due to the cost-of-living crisis, SAAS will increase student loans by £900 for every undergraduate student, no matter what band you are within! This could help you next year with your bills, rent or food shopping.
The definition of Estranged Students has been adjusted to make it more inclusive. The previous requirement to not have been in contact with your parent/legal guardian for 12 months has been removed. If there are any isolated instances of contact, each case will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
There will be changes made to the Postgraduate Funding Package to make it more like Undergraduate funding. The tuition fee loan will be increased by £1,500 to cover the increased cost in fees. SAAS support will also be extended to the rest of the UK and validated private providers throughout the UK. That means the world is your oyster! You can venture past Scotland for your Postgraduate studies!
