Our Student Elections are great, so you should get involved today! There’s still plenty of time to cast your votes in this year’s elections, so don’t panic!

Issues Voting?

  • Have you found it difficult to find where to vote?
  • Have you had technical issues online when trying to vote?
  • Have you found the voting process confusing?

If you answered yes to any of the above questions, then it appears that you could use some help. No worries at all, that’s what we’re here for! If you have tried to cast your vote and found yourself experiencing issues online, or simply don’t know how to vote, then that’s okay. We recommend that you visit our physical polling station which can be located next to the student union shop. Here you will be greeted by a friendly member of staff who will assist you throughout the process to ensure that you get the chance to vote for which candidates you would like to see represent your student union and sports union for the 2024/25 academic year.

Who do I Vote For?

Maybe you haven’t cast your vote because you don’t know anything about the candidates standing or what these candidates want to achieve if they were elected!

If this is, you then that’s completely understandable. It is important to know exactly why each candidate has chosen to stand and what they plan on improving or implementing if they were successfully elected. So, for those students who haven’t yet voted and want a clearer idea of what each candidate is campaigning for click the link provided to find out more: https://www.hwunion.com/elections/candidates/26/

Why Should I Vote?

Or maybe you are a student who feels as though your vote won’t influence the outcome of the elections and therefore weren’t planning on voting!

If this is you, STOP! And LISTEN UP! Each candidate has put in hours of preparation into their campaigns ahead of these elections with posters, flyers, creating their manifestos and much more. The reason for this is because each candidate is fighting for every vote, INCLUDING YOURS!

Student Election week is a busy week for everyone involved. A lot of planning and effort goes into the student elections each year, from creating banners and posters, creating social media posts, decorating the university for voting week, running the physical polling station, and constantly asking ‘have you voted yet’ for a week straight. Despite the hard work, we really do love student election week and so from everyone at the student union we ask that you; ‘PLEASE CAST YOUR VOTE’!
