Have you struggled with difficult circumstances or illness this semester? If yes, have these challenges have had a significant impact on your studies?

For example, you may have missed online classes or been late with assignments due to technical difficulties, or you may have had unexpected disruption due to the pandemic, impacting the quality of the work you submit.

All students have the option to tell the University about how these challenges have impacted studies. This process is called Mitigating Circumstances.

You can find out more about this process here!

To start the mitigating circumstances process, complete the straightforward online form, explaining what has been happening, and provide evidence of your circumstances. At the end of the semester, the school will consider the applications and may decide to make allowances for you.

If you decide to apply for Mitigating Circumstances, please do not delay. Angela and Ailie our advisors in the Advice Hub can help answer your questions about the process and how to apply. Please contact them on advice.hub@hw.ac.uk and they will help you via email or with a chat on teams.

Please note that The Advice Hub will close for the semester break on the last day of the exam diet (17th December) so please get in touch before then.

We are here in the Advice Hub to help and advise you.
