'Making the student experience great again'

What campaigns or student issues are most important to you?

- Ensure all courses have a well developed online learning environment to support learning

- Work with students to increase involvement with opportunities within the department

- Making sure students are well supported and equipped to undertake coursework and sit exams

What skills and experience would you bring to the role?

For the last year, I've worked as School Officer for Maths and in that time have led a team of Class Reps and worked with other lead MACS representatives to ensure that all students in the department have opportunities to voice their opinions, and that feedback is taken on board by Year Coordinators and other senior members of staff. I've developed some fantastic relationships with staff and other students across the school throughout my year as SO, and will use this to ensure all students across our three departments have a highly positive and (hopefully!) enjoyable experience.

Why do you want the role?

I've enjoyed leading a team of class reps this last year, and want to take this opportunity to extend my leadership role even further. At the same time, I'll work to make sure that MACS students are well represented in our Student Parliament, and that all decisions made are in the best interest of those across our school.

Where can I find out more about your campaign?

Come and speak to me during our MACS Drop In Sessions! They take place in the Earl Mountbatten Crush Area on Thursday 2nd, 16th and 30th March, 12-1pm.

Please feel free to reach out to me via Teams or by email (jd2017@hw.ac.uk)
