I'm Alexander, I have been your Academic Executive for the last year. I am highly experienced in the Academic side of the Union and working with the University. I have overseen many improvements and advancements for the Student Learning Experience and have run multiple initiatives focusing on this. I have 3 years of experience working in this type of role and am heavily focused on better flexibility in learning for our students. I have spoken at a conference to representatives from all Scottish Universities and sit as Vice-Chair on the committee for improving technology in learning. This means I have nationally and internally recognised expertise and confidence in this type of role. I am entirely student-oriented and constantly focus on the needs of my peers, highlighting issues at all levels of the University. Every issue I am running on, I have already been working on for a year. Help me continue fighting for this for YOU!

• Further lobby the University on better provision of online materials
• Better flexibility in University expectations of students, e.g. less focus on physical attendance, through the relevant committees
• Highlight the issues students face with Student Finance and how the University can reduce stress on students in workload/attendance at relevant committees
• Advocate for student issues raised, supporting the Academic Representation structure
• Represent the student voice at the high levels of University through relevant committees
• Facilitate better interdisciplinary, interschool and cross-campus relationships and activities through pilots and initiatives, like the Global Leadership Experience
• Push for more clarity from the University on responses to feedback from students
• Work more on accountability of the Union and its Officers at Parliament
