I'm in your corner

Hi, my name is Aindrea, and I am running for the position of Vice President of wellbeing because I believe in positive change for the greater good. Everyone deserves to have a voice and someone who will stand in their corner.

I have experience in mental health from experiencing it myself to now working with young children; it has been something I have been passionate about for years.  I am also the Scottish youth president for a charity that aims to accept all girls and young woman and give them a place to be whom they want to be seeing me organise the first two ever pride events this charity has ever been a part of. Being a part of this organisation has seen me travel and meet some fantastic people, I’ve heard some incredible stories, but I also have come to realise the extent that so many people need someone to listen and be by their side. This is who I aim to be.  Though this I have developed skills in listening, caring, understanding and being open to anything without being judgemental. I believe these make me an ideal candidate.

If elected I would aim to:

- Objective 1

Make your university time, really your time. To let you express who you are without fear or judgement.

- Objective 2

Increase awareness about what concerns you, affects you. What do you want to voice?

- Objective

Hold time to talk sessions to escape the everyday stress of university but also daily life a lot can change moving to university.

I think these aims will have a positive impact on the wellbeing of heriot watt students by making it okay not to be okay. To make it okay to be you. To know someone’s in your corner.
