Sexual Health Awareness and Guidance is week and it's bolder than ever. Join us for a series of event to learn about sexual health, pleasure, and boundaries.
Why Talking About Sexual Health, Pleasure, and Inclusion Matters
If you’ve walked past the Union recently and thought, “Whoa… things look a little spicier than usual”, you’re not imagining it. It’s S.H.A.G. Week. One of the boldest and most anticipated weeks on campus.
What’s in a name?
S.H.A.G. stands for Sexual Health Awareness and Guidance, a name that’s a little cheeky. Why? Because it literally means sex, and we wanted the week to be way more memorable than your ex.
It also perfectly sums up a week where sexual health is informative, inclusive, and never boring.
Why is it important to S.H.A.G.?
S.H.A.G. Week exists to break stigma, spark conversations, and sprinkle a little fun into learning.
Think of it as an empowering series of events where we alongside professionals provide knowledge, confidence, and safe spaces to talk about sexual health, consent, and pleasure.
S.H.A.G. Week exists because information is power and being informed is a green flag.
So, what’s it all about?
- Accurate sexual health info
- Safe spaces to talk about consent and boundaries
- Representation of all bodies, identities, and experiences
- Support without shame
- Community without judgement
What goes down?
The main goal of S.H.A.G. Week is to inform through interactive and engaging leaning. Think workshops, socials, creative spaces, and activities.
Here’s a sneak peek of what will happen:
- Bingo with a twist
- Drag performances
- Pub quiz, life drawing, and busting myths with plenty of fun and “oh wow, I didn’t know that” moments
Everyone’s invited!
You don’t need to be sexually active, queer, confident, or experienced to join in. S.H.A.G. Week is low-pressure, inclusive, and totally choose-your-own-adventure. Sit quietly, grab a leaflet, dance, laugh, or shout “BINGO!” with drag performers, it’s all fair game.
