Jump Start

This society is part of the Jump Start Scheme.

Sometimes a society that has existed in previous years doesn't continue on into the new year for whatever reason, often because the people who run it graduate. This means that sometimes a society is ready to go, but missing a crucial part of what's needed to make it tick, that could be you! With our jump start a society programme, you can become a society leader and pick up where the society left off! If you're interested in adopting this society, please contact the Societies Team for more information! Otherwise, if you'd be interested in joining the society, please sign up so we know which societies have the highest level of interest and where we can offer the most support!

Welcome to the Crochet & Knit Society! We are a creativity-based society here at Heriot-Watt Student Union. 


Whether you've been crafting for years or you have never even seen a hook or needle, you are welcome here <3

Our society has weekly sessions on Wednesday afternoons between 3-5PM in SR112 (Scott Russell Room 1.12). In these sessions, you can learn to knit and crochet, meet new people and just enjoy the vibes and the great thing is... it's all free!

You heard it here first.... free. 

Any supplies that you may need to get started are provided every week, we also have Crochet and Knit teachers at the sessions... but don't worry! All our C&K teachers are students just like you, so don't worry about formality :)

Crochet and Knit Taster Session

The Crochet and Knit Society have organised a taster event for new or returning students to learn the craft!
