Ethical Chains Campaign

Universities have significant purchasing power. Where our institution chooses to source its goods from has real-world consequences. Ethical supply chains mean ensuring that university spending does not contribute to human rights abuses, exploitation, or harm. Transparency and accountability protect both communities abroad and the integrity of our campus.

Our Goal
To ensure the university’s catering outlets work with suppliers whose practices align with ethical, socially responsible, and human rights-focused values.

We are calling for

  • A review, and where appropriate, replacement of suppliers linked to unethical or human rights-violating practices
  • Greater support for independent, locally sourced, and values-aligned suppliers
  • The adoption of a clear ethical procurement policy
  • Transparency about current suppliers and supply chains
  • Meaningful student involvement in catering and procurement decisions
