The Bus Campaign
Our main goal is to get Lothian buses to instate a new bus: The X25! It will be skipping over stops specifically for Napier to encourage those students to take buses like the 25,35 and 34. This will spread students out and allow Heriot-Watt students and staff to get to university on time!
Our main objectives are to get the word out to students, let them know this is happening and how to get involved. A survey is currently going around and if we get enough responses, Lothian Buses will have to listen! We are in contact with them, explaining based on the data why it would be so beneficial to introduce this bus route on a trial basis for three months. If numbers increase for them, it will be a permanent solution!
What route will it take and what times will this bus route be active?
Based on survey results, we can see that Haymarket, Princes Street and Gorgie are hot spots for students. We also notice students that take multiple buses and this will be considered when planning the route. This bus will aim to be active before 8:00am through 10am, then 3pm through 5pm, optimising for Students that tend to get in early and head home at the end of the day!
