Zeros
Is our main entertainment venue within the Student Union and can hold up to 450 people. There's a bar and a space for DJ booth, as well as a full lighting rig and PA system. Zeros is often used for club nights, drama performances and large meetings - make sure you tell us what you require when completing a booking form to make sure we can provide everything you need. Lighting and Sound equipment requires our Events Crew to operate to make sure your event runs smoothly.
Libertys
Libertys is a warm, chilled-out space that students can book after 4 pm. Furniture can be moved around to create the sort of space that your event requires. We have hosted everything from Wine & cheese nights to gaming tournaments to staff Christmas dinners in Libertys, so the space is very versatile without losing its homely atmosphere. When filling out the form, could you please let us know what equipment is needed so that we can sort it out in advance.
How can I book Libertys or Zeros?
To book Libertys or Zeros, please pop into the Student Union reception and request a Room Booking request form. Once filled out, leave it with us and we will get back in contact with you to iron out the details. You can also contact Stewart Macdonald on Stewart.Macdonald@hw.ac.uk to discuss further.
What does it cost?
Use of Libertys and Zeros is free for affiliated Heriot-Watt Student Union societies. There may be some additional charges for extras like:
- Deposit for Opening the Bar (if the bar makes more than £100, your deposit is returned)
- Having our Security Staff Present
- Use of the Events Crew
