As the semester winds down and exam season approaches, Watt Fest offers the perfect chance for students and staff to unwind, connect, and enjoy a full day of festival fun. Mark your calendars for Wednesday 25 March, when the campus transforms into an allday celebration running from 12 - 8pm. 

What’s happening at Watt Fest? 

This year’s line-up brings together sport, music, food, and festival fun - all designed to help you relax before assessments begin. 

Team Blue vs Team Yellow: The Watt Cup Showdown 

Head to Oriam and cheer on your favourites as Team Blue and Team Yellow battle it out for this year’s coveted Watt Cup. Expect big energy, friendly rivalry, and plenty of campus pride. 

Festival Village at the Walled Garden (12–5pm) 

Soak up the festival atmosphere with: 

• Delicious food trucks 

• Inflatable games 

• A marquee full of activity 

Evening Music at the Student Union (5–8pm) 

Round off the day with live music from Country At Heart, bringing country tunes and a great atmosphere to the Student Union. We’ll also be decorating the Student Union to match the country vibes, so you’ll feel like you’ve walked straight into the Wild Wild West.  

Coming from the Scottish Borders? We’ve got you covered 

Students from our Galashiels campus are invited to join the fun too. A dedicated coach will: 

• Depart from Galashiels at 1:30pm 

• Return from Edinburgh at 8:30pm 

Seats are limited, so make sure to book your spot in advance by completing this short form. 

Tickets and entry 

• Watt Cup events: No ticket required - just turn up and enjoy. 

• Festival Village and evening music: A free ticket is needed for entry. Tickets are limited, so we advise you to book online in advance to secure your ticket.
