Boost Your CV and Make an Impact: Volunteering Opportunities for Students

Looking to gain valuable experience, meet new people, and make a real difference in your community? Our volunteering opportunities this semester are a perfect way to do all that and more! From environmental action to debating and student exchange programs, there’s something for everyone.

1. Beach Clean Volunteer – Sustainability Week

📅 When: Tuesday 21st October

What’s involved: Join the Big Big Beach Clean during Sustainability Week as an official volunteer! You’ll help track the types of litter collected, document the day, and measure the impact of this important environmental action. It’s a great way to contribute to sustainability while gaining volunteering hours.

2. Week 6 Student Exchange Program

📅 When: Tuesday 14th and/or Friday 17th October (Consolidation Week)

What’s involved: In collaboration with Stirling University Students’ Union, this voluntary exchange program is designed to enhance your CV, grow your network, and give hands-on experience.

On both days, you’ll enjoy:

  • Free transport and packed lunch
  • Apple picking and pressing
  • Branding and marketing competitions
  • Workshops and talks from SOS International
  • Participation in the Scottish Community Conservation Project

It’s a full day of activities, learning, and making a tangible impact — all while building connections across universities!

3. Volunteer Debate Lead

📅 When: Wednesday 22nd October, 4pm

What’s involved: Love debating or just can’t keep an opinion to yourself? We’re looking for passionate volunteers to lead and argue the topic “Who is to blame?” Gain experience in debating, develop your communication skills, and have your voice heard.
