Finding Your Balance During Consolidation Week

Consolidation Week is your mid-semester breather, a chance to pause, catch up, and focus before the rest of the term picks up speed. This semester, it runs from 13 to 17 October, and while there are no scheduled classes, it’s originally designed for independent study and reflection.

We know, though, that finding the right balance between rest, revision, and assignments isn’t always easy. Between looming deadlines and the temptation to completely switch off, it can be tricky to know how to make the most of the week. That’s where we come in! Your Student Union has a line-up of events to help you connect, recharge, and learn in new ways all while keeping your wellbeing and community at heart.

🍲 Community Meal at Zeros - Monday 13 October, 3 - 4pm

Kick off your week with comfort food and good company! Rock up to Zeros and join us for our first Community Meal of the year, where we’ll be serving free hot food. Grab a seat, enjoy your meal, and chat with stallholders about the approaching Sustainability Week, our Community Conservation Project, and the brand-new Sustainability Collective’s Community Library. It’s the perfect way to refuel and connect with your campus community.

📚 The Sustainability Collective’s Community Library - Libertys Café

In collaboration with the University’s Sustainability Team, we’re creating a new kind of library, one built on trust, sharing, and connection. The Community Library at Libertys Café isn’t just a shelf of books; it’s a space where students can swap, borrow, and share their favourite reads. Whether you’re leaving behind a loved story or discovering something new, it’s a beautiful way to contribute to a culture of community and sustainability right here in the Union.

🌍 Week 6 Student Exchange Programme - Collaboration with Stirling University SU

Looking for something a bit different this Consolidation Week? Join our Student Exchange Programme in collaboration with Stirling University Students’ Union, a unique opportunity to build skills, meet new people, and take part in hands-on sustainability activities.

On Tuesday 14 and Friday 17 October, you’ll get free transport, a free packed lunch, and a full day of workshops and experiences at the Stirling University Climate Festival. Expect apple picking and pressing, branding and marketing competitions, interactive talks from SOS International, and opportunities to get involved with the Scottish Community Conservation Project co-led by our very own Lil, Vice President Student Communities alongside Stirling’s VP team.

It’s a fantastic way to spend your week learning, connecting, and contributing to something that truly matters.
