Scottish Universities Mathematics Olympiad 2023

Hosted by Maths Society

Sat 25 March 2023 09:00-17:00

The Scottish Universities Mathematics Olympiad (or SUMO) is an annual event founded by the University of St Andrews Mathematics Society, open to all Mathematics undergraduate students studying at a Scottish University to attend. This year, the HW Maths Society have worked in collaboration with their counterparts at St Andrews, Glasgow and Aberdeen to organise the event, which the University of Glasgow will be hosting this year. We hope to send a number of students to participate either as an individual or a team to answer a series of engaging mathematics problems, followed by a networking social event afterwards.

Thanks to the Jack Carr Fund, we have secured funding for 20 students to attend the event via train travel free of charge. Should we exceed this number of 20 participants, we will split the funding so travel is heavily subsidised.
