We’re looking for someone who’s passionate about making the student experience even better at Heriot-Watt by helping with a series of not-for-profit events and campaigns which aim to improve the on-campus community.

The main projects you’ll be helping with are the launch of our upcoming charities week, ‘So You Think You Can Drag?’ and our annual Volunteer Awards.

The job is part-time – 10 hours per week (we will try to work around your studies, but should expect hours to be split over a minimum of 2 days each week).

Who are we?

We are Heriot-Watt University Student Union. We’re based in Edinburgh and our main goal is to make sure that Heriot-Watt students have THE BEST TIME whilst studying here. We have our commercial outlets as well as Advice Hub, academic representation, societies and community, plus we work with Students to make their time at Heriot-Watt the best it can be.

The Student Engagement team, where the role is based, looks after the Advice Hub, academic representation (e.g. School Officers and Class Reps), societies and volunteering. Basically, all the fun stuff.

What do you get?

The role pays £7.70 per hour plus holiday pay. You will be fully supported by the existing Student Engagement team and you’ll be helping to build the student community on campus.

You will also gain invaluable experience of event planning, developing your communications skills and recognising and celebrating the achievements of our volunteers.
