What’s the job?

We are looking for an experienced researcher to analyse our Big Ask survey and produce a findings report. You will be able to fit the work around your other commitments so it will suit current postgraduate research students particularly well.

Our Big Ask survey will run from early November and you will be asked to offer input to the survey design. You will then be given the survey results for you to analyse. You will work under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer, who will provide you direction on the final report requirements. While you will be able to manage your own time, we expect the findings report to be delivered by early January 2020.

The Big Ask is one of the most important ways that the Student Union understands what our students want and need from their union. We use the data to shape our plans and services to make sure we are putting our students first, always.

Who are we?

We are Heriot-Watt University Student Union. We’re based at Riccarton and our main goal is to make sure that Heriot-Watt students have THE BEST TIME whilst studying here. We have a bar, café, nightclub and shop, plus we work with Students to make their time at Heriot-Watt the best it can be.

What do you get?

This is a paid project and we estimate in the region of 50-60 hours of work will be required and will pay £650. You will be paid in increments throughout the project, reflecting the progress you make against project milestones.

You’ll gain invaluable experience in conducting research analysis and have that warm fuzzy feeling inside that you’re helping the students of HW make the most of their Student Union.
