Heriot-Watt Red Cross Group
The British Red Cross is the largest humanitarian organisation in the world, helping people in crisis, whoever and wherever they are. At Heriot-Watt, a group of students started up the Red Cross Group just a few years ago to make it easier for students to get involved in volunteering for the British Red Cross. Each week we have a meeting for a few hours and teach our members First Aid, as well as letting you know what’s happening in the Red Cross. All volunteers have the chance to be fully trained in First Aid and any number of skills that the Red Cross teach, e.g. emergency response or teaching humanitarian education in schools and communities. There are also plenty of other things you can get involved in - such as fundraising, nights out, and casualty simulation sessions/ we love getting as many people involved as possible, as if you want to make a difference please give it a try – everyone is welcome!
First meeting: Thursday, 26th September, at 18:30 in Committee Room 1 at the Union.
