Get involved today!
Want to try something new? Make new friends? Make a difference to the lives of others? Then Get Involved!
Your University experience is about so much more than just your degree! It is an important opportunity to try new things and meet new people.
Join a Society
With over 40 different student societies, there’s so much to choose from! Check out the full list of available societies, and if you can’t find a society that suits your interests, simply find some like-minded students and we’ll help you to create your own society!
Volunteer
Get involved in a voluntary project at Union or in your local community. Not only will you be doing something good for others, you'll also be meeting new people, developing your skills and building your CV. Did you know that 73% of employers would choose a candidate with voluntary experience over one without?! See our volunteering section for more info on how to get involved!
Get Involved in your Community
Every student at Heriot-Watt is also a member of a hall of residence (even if you don’t live on campus), so do make the most of this opportunity and get involved in halls activities. Look out for the socials, sports competitions and charity challenges that make up 'The Battle of the Halls' competition! For more information see the Halls and Community Section!
Raise Money for a Cause you Care About
RAG (Raising and Giving) is Heriot-Watt Student Union's charities group. It's here to support you in raising money for the charities you care about. Everyone can participate in RAG in some way, whether it's joining the Committee and helping to organise regular activities or just popping along and enjoying an event (such as our charity Beer Festival!).
Questions?
